Self Improvement Through Time Management

There are 86,400 seconds in a single day. Every day you are given the same amount of time to invest in your life regardless of whether you’re rich or poor. Your time is the most valuable commodity because it is the fundamental unit of life and when you lose time, it’s lost forever. Managing your time will focus you on specific tasks for a set amount of time to achieve your dream.

Time management serves as a self-improvement tool, which benefits you and your environment. It will increase overall efficiency and productivity, help achieve daily tasks that work toward your goals and prioritize events to ensure you don’t miss time with family and friends. Below are three tips to start your time management strategy:

  1. Create a daily activities log – Track your activities throughout the day and how long you spend on each activity. This will give you a better understanding of what you invest your time in.
  2. Set priorities – Define what is important to you and your goals. This will help rank the importance of each activity.
  3. Schedule time properly – Create a schedule with the tips above. This will ensure your time is spent on things you have to do and things you want to do.

The tips discussed will give you a strong foundation for time management strategy. Remember that your strategy is custom to your lifestyle. You can add tools that work for you and eliminate tools that don’t work for you. It is up to you to commit yourself to a happier, healthier and wealthier future. So how will you spend your time?

  1. Thanks for the great reminder Lawrence! I think we forget sometimes how easy it is to take control of our time if we really want to be more efficient. Nice job!
